Ancient, the stock muffler will help me meanwhile I'm N/A, since it'll help with back pressure, and it'll be MUCH MUCH quieter! Once I go boost, I'll be replacing it with an HKS full cat-back exhaust. The brakes don't bolt right up, but XAT racing is making the brackets for me for a meer 80 bucks! *connections, connections* I just have to wait for my buddies' buddy to get around to it! They ran me $600 just for the calipers, and I have brand new rotors and pads for the front and back! I'll also have to custom fabricate an e-brake! Probably the same idea as the STR, with a separate caliper just for the e-brake! I'll be locking the wheels with the ebrake at 70MPH[sm=badbadbad.gif]!!! The only think I haven't decided yet is whether or not I'm going to redrill the rotors to four lug, or go to a 5-lug conversion! The conversion will run me another 300-400 bucks! BTW, I'm broke now, and I'd need new rims too, so that's unlikely right now! Oh, and it's an ugly hatch, but paint will come MUCH later! Function over Form bitches!

Dude, bigdreams $600 for calipers?Ouch! Isn't that kinda expensive though?

I've seen big brake (brembo)kits for the cdw27 platform (contour), and the whole shabangabang costs like1000 for rotors, pads, calipers etc.

They're gorgeous, but dang that's an expensive mod.

Good to hear about the exhaust. I was thinking, I hope he's aware of back-pressureor he's going tostall like a motha.

"I'll be locking the wheels with the ebrake at 70MPH..." Ah, finally, what that car is built for!!!

Dude no joke about fucntion over fashion. Every heavily modded 240sx I've seen that is unsponsored looks so broke down from the exterior. Plus, if you go drifting often, who wants to keep investing into a bodykit. The ish will fall apart in no time.

Now we need pic of the car!

My buddy has been using HDR (High Dynamic Range) on his Nikon D100 and I have to say these pictures are hot. Take a gander.

Stuff like this makes me want to get into photography.

And lastly, my favorite:

This is nearly a year ago, but I have different rims now and a MUCH stiffer suspension! The exterior color is still the same though! Both sides shine beautifully, but just not the same color[]

Like the colors! You should figure out some way of integrating the two colors til you can get some paint on her! I'd imagine it'd be pretty easy to pull off!

Man I love black svt contours...I'd rather have a cobra though!

The story behind my colors: For my 18th birthday, my parents gave me a red 1990 Nissan 240sx with 42K miles! Yes, I said 42K miles! Immaculate body and seamless interior! After 6 months with my baby, I got rear-ended by some guy with no insurance! The rear end collision caused for my exhaust to bend and create too much back pressure and I blew my engine! It only had 45K miles on it! Tough luck for me! About six months later, a buddy of mine gave me a call and asked me if I were interested in a 1993 Nissan 240sx with 112K miles with no front end? I obviously was, and went to go see the owner. The owner told me that he was a student at FIU, and that his car was stolen and recovered about 4 hours later completely stripped of the front end and the windows broken! I asked him how much he wanted, and he was very hesitant to sell it because this was also an immaculate car! I ended up getting it for $1,200 and I put the red front end from my first 240sx on the new car, as well as the entire black interior. It had dudu brown before! The engine has been nothing short of spectacular! No problems what-so-ever, other than the basic hiccup here and there! Starter and clutch went on it, but it was fun and easy fixing both! I haven't painted the car, because I always felt that having the car run better was more important than looks. Soon, I'll be turbo, and I guess I'll have to show you guys my big project right now! I won't start for at least another 2 months, and it won't be complete for a while, since I'm doing the work with a couple of buddies that aren't charging me anything! Here is a picture, and it should be worth a thousand words!

Not sure about a thousand words but thousand laughs for sure....put a freakin' shirt on!!!

Liking the whole transformation from lefty to righty....how's the transmission work once you flip it over? Just have to get used to it? Bet it'll be different for sure to drive it on the opposite side! How much those parts cost ya?

+1 on the shirt mate! I was gripping the steering wheel so tight! LOL! The gears are the same, and it is difficult to make left turns at intersections, especially if there are cars in the opposite direction making lefts as well! Other than that, pretty basic! Just as jimbo! I got the entire front clip for a mere $200! Just the dash is worth that much!

Sorry for double posting, but this something completely different. $15 at Advance Auto Parts and about 30 minutes to an hour of work! Much better lighting at night, and the end result isn't GREAT, but it's MUCH better than before! I'm really pleased!

Oh man, I just got back from the BMW Ultimate Drive Event (http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/...Programs/UDSK/)
It's for the Komen Foundation for breast cancer. Basically, every mile you drive, they donate a dollar to foundation.

Basically, you have to wait in line and get about 10 miles of driving/vehicle (unsupervised )
Anywho, I got to drive the following:
528i
328i
535xi wagon
and the Z4 coupe (drove it twice)
Unfortunately, you had to be 25+ yrs of age to drive the 7-series.

From my calculations, I drove about 53 miles, so about $53 to the Komen Foundation.

I was really impressed by the wagon, thought it would be a slug, but pretty peppy (Nobody in the group wanted to drive the thing, so I decided to take it for a spin).

The Z4 coupe was the best. I've never really driven such a small car w/that much power. The only issue I had was the wheel-spin at the top of first/second gear. Car is pretty torquey up top. Oh man, oh man, that car was fun though. I think I got a little bit of whip-lash from it!! Hah!

If you guys get a chance to do this, I highly recommend it. Great cars, great food, great atmosphere and all for a really great cause! (I believe it's only in the US, though)

And all for a good cause too........no downside.....Well, apart from the fact that its only in the bloody US that is
Shame you dint get to run the 7 series though

You didn't miss much with the 7 series. All the fun to be had would be in the Z4! The M series would be the best though, but too bad you couldn't drive those! Good fun + good cause = great times!

I want to give a 07 zo6 a wrip although I am not a gm guy....that car is absolute killer! Viper would be fun...My buddies father in law had a 07 mustang cobra and just totalled it out...my buddy was saying how he drives the car all the time and his father in law like never drives it...buddy said the car sounds like a freaking jet plane because he just had more work done on it and had a new supercharger slapped into her and different exhaust...next day my buddy let me know that 50k+ car was totalled that day!!! THAT SUCKS!!!

I'll take an R34 thanks. Hop over to Canada and get it DOT-certified in the states. For that matter, I'd take an R33 as well.
