love -in
We're in the middle of a 3,000 km trip through Australia - this photo is on a ferry and the mud is from off roading on a desert island - not something I would have attempted in my 2 wheel drive saab. Has anyone else attempted dirt, mud & sand tracks? The car did really well - I went back after a couple of kays when the middle bit of the sand track got too high (when I could hear the sand on the bottom of the car) - but the old work horse did a great job.
In short - I've had some mechanical issues with this 2003 (reasonably old) car, but... like most on this forum I love the jag x-type. It has soul.

Hi, I'm fairly new to the forum and new Jag owner, and just love this thread and my jag!
X-type 2.0D SE Estate/Station Wagon (in the UK) It's black and got some nice shiny chrome bits, just enough to make me smile. The black has a really nice deep metal effect when shined up too....went off cars for a while, but definitely got the bug again now (I know that, because I spent about 6 hours polishing it on Monday!).
I also love the fact that although it's only a 2.0D it's still got quite a bit of 'oomph', it's only supposed to have 8bhp more than my last car, but it feels like waaaay more. I know this is not gonna be much compared to the big petrol beasties, but with the mileage I do I can't afford to run a petrol one in the UK.
I know this goes slightly off topic from the last post/comment placed, so...can't really choose my favorite journey yet, but I am off to Devon in the Summer, and the cruise control on the 6 hour drive down there will be very welcome, and once we get there I know there's some great twisty roads to try it out on.

We traded a 2003 Buick Century for our Jag. The Buick was a great car had a bigger engine than the Jag and got better gas mileage 37 vs 30 highway but I definitely love the Jag more. It's a dream to drive and the Jag gets a lot more looks and thumbs up than the Buick.

A story about my first Jag
I bought my first Jag - an 03 X 2.5 from a dealer in Lexington, KY - about 170 miles from my house. Wife and I swapped a Dodge Intrepid for it. On the way home, after we traded cars, my wife wanted to drive the new Jag for a while. It was late in the evening, and, she was buzzing down I-64 in the middle of nowhere. She looked at me and said that the Jag seemed really slow to her. I glanced at the speedo and told her - "do you realize you're doing 100". Now I'm on my third Jag, but, still have fond memories of that first one.

Hello All,
OKay back from Prague, good trip. I am getting married there in the summer :-)
Glad to see my thread still thriving! You see the good will always outweigh the bad. The more positivity the better.
Jim. Jag spotting in Prague. 5 X's 6 S Type 1 XJ early 2000 model. No Xf No new XJ & no Xk's Jaguar is not that popular out there yet (Skoda is!). I could not get a Jag for my wedding either so have had to settle for a Rolls!!

Something awesome.
Need way more aggressive fitting wheels to pull off how slammed the car is now. Took me like 6 months just to decide on final wheel specs/tire sizes (I wasn't looking to do trial and error here, I want it to be perfect on the first try). Plus the car is getting ready to go into the body shop for a face-lift, so new shoes were a must.
