I know this is an old thread but I have to try and ask, if the 6/7th vin numbers being 51 means it's not a sport model, then why would a jag vendor ask for my vin when buying new struts, and tell me mine is a sport, when I too have 51 as the 6/7th digits?

Just to be a bit picky (who me?) Our cats are Jaguar Racing Green as the paint has metallic flakes in it. British Racing Green does not have any.

My 2007 2.2d sport as standard has 18" aruba wheels, harder ride due to lower springs and shocks, also found out the front arb (sway bar) is 1mm thicker diameter, compared to my other se model.
The ride is crashy compared to the se,but does handle well at speed around corners !
Different steering wheel and no chrome.
