So I just finished tinting my tail lights. I kinda rushed through the process so I got some small wrinkles on some parts of the lights. If you're thinking of doing it I highly recommend it (just don't do it like me) do it with patience or take it somewhere to do it. Here are the pics.

tkd, I have contemplated doing something very similar to my X-Type. But, I am thinking about taking it one step further than what you did. I plan on rearranging the lights inside the housing slightly and making both the turn signal and the backup light a common turn signal (ie, now have 2 bulbs for the turn signal) and then move the backup lights down to the valance where the back up sensors are. That way you can black out the whole tail light and give the car a much cleaner appearance and then using a relay, you can upgrade the backup lights to say a 55W bulb too. Get better backup lighting and a cleaner look. This would also allow you to shift to either yellow or red turn signals (I am leaning towards red turn signals). Looks good though.

Sorry tkd but I don't like how the reverse/turn parts of the lenses stick out now. I'm diggin' MeeMo's complete tint better. Think it would look better with the black paint. But, I applaud you for making it your own. I had mine painted to match the body color and blanked out the reverse fogs. I get away with it a bit more because that big lense doesn't stand out as much with platinum paint color.

Back on topic, I like the tinted tails with the reverse light still showing. Usually when people do the whole taillight you can still see a gray spot where the clear part is on the taillight anyway, which bugs me. Either make it totally black to where that spot isnt there, or leave it white and clean. I like the way you made it dude, keep up the good work.

No, No, No, man! PLEASE leave your tail lights stock - this is not a civic to "rice out"! Jaguars have always been luxury cars, not "super upper"!!! Just keep it clean and FIX that bubbly tint!
Sorry if it sounds a little harsh, I just have a thing about keeping cars clean and simple with out "ricy mods"...

As for the tinted tail lights from factory - I think it looks okay on some cars and when they are made professionally.
