ORIGINAL: rivs

for what its worth. I have an X and am looking to get an S for the increased room. For the money you have I'd expect to be getting around an '04 model with some manufacturers wrrty remaining. Looked at a 2.7 dsl S on Friday for a little over GBP14000 with wrrty until end of year.

Also for info been driving a 2.5 X auto over the weekend and computer says under 24mpg. I am sure I get more than that out of my 2.0 but that is manual.

Well, here is what i have found, the S-type I am looking at has 53k miles 2001 4.0 v8 all options including nav. Most of the X-types i find in that price range are either low option cars or ones that have heated seats and have 60-70k miles. I wish i could find an 04 all i see are 02-03 models. Thanks for the help guys. The hunt continues....

Hey peewee why you want an 04 x? If anything set your limit at the 03 but my 02 is just fine...find an 02 with a warranty just don't give up on your search and settle because you'll get a call a day later from the dealer with your car you wanted saying they'd negotiate with you, now that you've already bought yours because you were too impatient! I swear it didn't happen to me!!!

Hey Peewee..........mines an 02 as well......Got it with very low mileage (16k) .........not bad for a four year old car.
Got a years warranty thrown in and full service history too......a real bargain and no real complaints to talk of.

Keep looking
