The person who sold me the wheels claimed they were from a 2003 x type which should fit my 2002. The wheels are the 7 flute style and are 17" x 7" the offset is 52.5. By all accounts, they should fit perfect, but the 225/45/17 tires rub against the chassis. I only paid $100 so I'm not really concerned about the money. However, when I put them on the car, they looked fantastic! So now I have to find a way to make them work.

gdurawa, unfortunately, the specs on the wheels for the X-Types is that close. Where is it rubbing? I only ask as there might be an easy way to tie that portion of the wheel well liner out of the way (for example).
Granted, you are running the stock size tire for a 17" wheel. So, I would be looking to see if you have something that isn't tied out of the way. Odds are, that is where your problem is going to lie. If not, you are looking at a problem with the backspacing of the rim and while the rims may have been polled off of another Jag, were they having the same issues?
