X400 Drivers Door window not all the way up
Is the drivers door window the same in a 2003 Jaguar x-type as a 2009 Jaguar X-type? I ask this has I've just had one installed in my car, and there is a gap of about 4mm at the top, so there's a lot of wind sound etc. Or has the glass been installed wrong?
I have a X-Type 2.5 2009 model

SNG Barratt lists the right hand front window glass as part number C2S5435 and the left hand front window glass as C2S5437 for all X-type years. If you are in Hastings,East Sussex, UK your driver side glass is different than if you are in Hastings, Minnesota, US but the model year shouldn't matter.
I would find a different mechanic if they charged you for a window that doesn't close.

1cigar, as luck would have it my non-Jag just started doing the same thing, the power window stops with a slight gap. The forum for that car says it is likely excess friction. Current to the window motor goes up and the control module shuts the window down thinking somebody's fingers are stuck in there. Solution in this case is to pull the interior of the door and lubricate everything. Maybe your issue is the same (tripping the safety feature to protect fingers) but due to slight misalignment of the newly fitted window?
