Xenon Upgrade
I guess there is more to a Xenon Upgrade than getting the replacement units and putting them in. Has anyone done this upgrade and is there a How-to anywhere for the electrical gubbins that need to be changed (modified loom?)
Thinking of getting hold of a set and doing this as the standard headlights are realtively poor, and the drivers side one on mine has some strange thing morphing on the lense (sticks out a bit but also in as if its melted).
Thanks in advance.

RE: Xenon Upgrade
I've seen a few kit installed and they seem to work good. The only problem i have with aftermarket kits is that they do not include leveling capabilities and as far as i know leveling is required in the U.S. on HID lamps. A hard *** cop could give you a ticket for the mod.

Dave, you are talking about upgrading to HID bulbs in the stock non-HID housings or are you talking about upgrading the bulbs to the hyper-white bulbs? If you are only doing the hyper-white bulbs, as long as you stick with the stock wattage (ie, 55/65W) bulbs, then no wiring modification is needed. All it takes is pulling out the stock bulbs and sliding the new bulbs into place.
Now, if you are looking to install HID bulbs, wiring them up isn't hard. I just installed a set into my fog lights. The big thing that you need to keep in mind is that the HID bulbs are polarity sensitive. So, you need to make sure that the positive wire for the headlights is connected to the positive of the HID bulbs. If you need to know which wires to play with, let me know. I will look it up for you.
I can step you through what ever mod you are looking at. I am just looking for a bit more specifics for what you are wanting.

RE: Xenon Upgrade
Or are you speaking of swapping out the entire lamps to put in the actual xenon lamps that have auto adjust in place of the regular lamps?
I never got pulled over with my hids but even if you did it would be pretty hard to tell whether they are stock or not if you did it neat enough.

RE: Xenon Upgrade
Thanks for the replies guys.
I am thinking of swapping the whole units out and replacing them. One of the main reasons are the drivers side light as I said has some strange growth protruding out and inside the lens (like its melted and morphed) and this is affecting the beam pattern on my side. Plus the lights seem pretty poor anyway so swapping the whole units seems the way to go (although expensive).
