Xtype/CrownVic Same bolt pattern?
Hi forum hope all is well
Well as we all know that winter is approaching and traction is a big issue with the northern hemisphere and the issue that comes along with that are a good set of winter tires. Well i have the winter tire part covered i have SnowLions. I was doing some research and came across a site where all of the makes and models are listed with the bolt patterns and from what i know the bolt pattren for an 04 xtype is 5x108 and also on the site it said that a crown vics bolt is 5x108. Now i am not for sure for sure on the bolt pattren for my 04 xtype if it is 5x108 and ive cheked local tire shops and they wont tell me so is the bolt pattren 5x108?? if so its alll good: So if some one can confirm the bolt pattren ud save me alot of time and money thanx

Jessy, while the bolt pattern is 5x108 for you X-type, you need to also look at the offset of the rim. You get too different of an offset and you will end up with rubbing issues and possible excessive bearing/hub wear.
Doing a quick look, I came up with a bolt pattern of 5x114, not 5x108 for the crown vic. The offsets are fairly close for a 2003-2008 Vic. Not many changes have been made to the cars over time. I even did a quick look of Crown Vic from 1995 to 2008 and all use the 5x114 bolt pattern. So, I would be double checking the rims that you are looking to buy. Also note that the newer Vics have a useable offset, but the older ones do not. So, what year Crown Vic are you looking at?

brown vics and lincolns share a bolt pattern. which is 5x4.5 (5x114.3)
knowing this i should have answered it.
many japanese cars have this pattern as well, jaguars dont.
older vics have offsets in the +50's which is no good, you wont rub on an 8inch rim, but youll have sunken wheels and a thinner trac + bad hanlding.
you need anything lower then a +40 offset , also the wider wheel you go the lower positive offset youll need.
if the rims from the crown vic are free you can get 20mm spacers that have bolt pattern adapters and are hubcentric. they can get expensive.
if your buying the wheels, its simple > dont.
