Default Another "Battery Low please start engine" ODBII post - XE edition.

Alright folks...

I'm at my wits end on this one. For the past year or so I've had the "Low battery please start engine" and the hazard light on dash stays on well past what it's supposed to when I leave the car. Never has an issue starting though, even after sitting for a week.

I believe its the ODB2 & Battery Drain issue as I was using one last year with the torque app checking codes. You can read about this issue in several other posts... here's just a few from the f-type (it's appeared on other jag models as well):
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...advice-162282/
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...nknown-160152/
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-219291/page2/

I've tried to disconnect the battery, step on the brake for a few min,(supposedly to drain capacitors) reconnect after 15 min
Disconnected just the negative wire..., Disconnected the entire battery overnight...
I even tried performing rain dances and briefly contemplated sacrificing small animals.

No luck, I still get the message. Several of the posts referred to 'resetting the battery management control module'... but I'm unclear if that involves anything other than disconnecting the battery itself.

Just to eliminate it as a possibility, I will go have the battery tested at autozone, but it smells like the ODBII issue to me.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Isn’t it in warranty? I’d let a dealer fix it. Your issue sounds repeatable, which is a lot easier to diagnose. Never had the issue on my F-type, but it’s pretty common, and Jag won’t or hasn’t acknowledged there’s an issue.
