BTW; I think leaving out the physical emergency key for trunk in a car that has battery in the boot is not the most viable design. My XF has that physical "emergency" lock that can be opened with a key and it has been handy at times....

There is a physical key buried inside the remote which can be used to unlock the front doors, which would allow you entry to the rear seats. If your car has folding rear seats, there should be a button on the center seatback which will allow you to fold it down like an armrest, which may allow you to pull the two cords near the roof of the boot which cause the right and left side seats to fold down, thus allowing entry to the boot.
Once you are in the boot (hopefully with a flashlight) there may be a way to open the boot lid from the inside.
