HI Members,
I am a new forum member and a brand new Jaguar XE owner in Melbourne. I am not sure if this has been discussed in the forum before but I am having a bit of a problem with my bluetooth messages. I have no problem receiving and reading the messages on the screen but for some reason, I can't reply..not even with the reply templates. When I rang the dealerships, they were not sure!! Has anybody experienced this before?

What type of Phone are you using Kusha? Like most cars, Levels of compatibility with the XE can vary depending upon phone model and manufacturer. For example, according to Jaguar's own compatibility list (linked to a sticky at the top of this forum) the Apple I6 can receive messages but not send/reply, whereas a Nexus 5 can do both.

Hi,
I've visited the dealership last evening. Apparently, in Australia, the reply to text messages function is banned for safety reason. Not even the reply templates could be used. No issue with receiving and reading messages. I'd be very interested to know if other XE drivers (Prestige) have experienced this technical problem too?
And I have a Samsung S6 Edge Plus. And I also recall from a conversation with the salesman a while ago that iPhone would be more problematic in terms of compatibility with the bluetooth connectivity in Jaguar.
Also, I have the perception that not everyone who works at Jaguar are actually fully familiar with the XE model and I think it is because it is such a new model in Australia.

The link on the sticky seems to have stopped working, sorry for the duff info. The UK version of the page is here
Vehicles - Jaguar
I looked up the Edge 6 plus, in the UK you can receive/read SMS but not send either typed text or template. I would guess it is the same for you, and may well be nothing to do with local legislation or restrictions.
Both sales and service at dealerships here seem to be a bit less than authoritative on the XE. It can get a bit annoying.

I can only agree. I received some very poor service also. I am not sure why, but one thought is that with JLR changing their Land Rover Dealers to include Jaguar , we are treated as second class citizens. One would have thought that Jaguar would have pushed their Dealers to lift the game to compete with the German Marques! I love our XE R - Sport but very disappointed with the Customer experience. I don't think you are on your own.
