Engine oil level critically low - Engine judders
On Saturday I took my Jaguar XE in for an MOT. Beforehand the car worked and drove perfectly, plenty of power, no warning lights and everything seemed to be as it should.
After picking the car up I noticed it struggled and took a little bit longer to start than usual. I didn't think anything of it at the time and carried on with my day. I had to drop the car off to the Mrs who was at work (2 minutes down the road). When she had finished and was driving back, she phoned me to say the car was struggling to get up past 60mph and felt like it didn't have as much power due to her foot being to the floor but the car wasn't accelerating. With that, an error popped up on the dash saying "Engine Oil Level Critically Low". Now I failed o believe this would be the case as I had oly just topped it up a few days before. So I got her to pull over and checked the oil on the dipstick, all levels seemed fine, it was sitting just under max. I got the car back and plugged it an OBD scanner, no errors were thrown. The oil level critically low error had dissappeared (presumably when we restarted the engine).
I have checked the car for any leaks, looked underneath the car and in around the engine bay. I noticed the dipstick wasn't in properly and hadn't been pushed all the way in. Some oil had leaked and 'spat' out of the dipstick tube but it didn't look like much. With that I cleaned up the oil and put the disptick back in properly. Could this have caused an issue with air being trapped in with the oil? - I'm not sure if this would be a problem or not.
Anyway, we took it for a drive later that day around the block and the Mrs said it felt juddery and we could hear the turbo whistling a lot more prominently tham usual. It also felt as if it was idling far too low and the car stalled twice when pulling out of various junctions.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the issue? I'm thinking of doing a full oil and filter change to see if this helps.

I have noticed some oil leaking from the turbo - I had my breakdown come out and take a look and they've advised it could be a problem with the crank shaft plus some problems with the oil pressure. The engine sounds horrid, whatever it is I have a feeling it won't be a cheap fix. I've got it booked in for 2 weeks time (earliest I could do), I will update the post when we figure out what the problem is.

Mine is a 2.0 Turbo gas/petrol. This is my first car with a Turbo engine. I've read about Turbo & lubrication & the damage it will do if not properly lubricated. I've searched online on how to prolong the life of a Turbo & the one the comes out first is "Change the oil regularly". So, if that is the case, I will intend to do a short OCI on this car.
