Default Engine speed on start

2020 XE P250 SE
I notice on cold start that the engine revs at about 1600 RPM for ten seconds or so. Is this typical and/or correct? I have always practiced not revving the engine on any car at startup, as many people do, because it takes a few turns to get the oil pressure up and oil circulating. Just checking!

Normal I think, though unique to Jag in my experience.
The revs drop instantly, if you select drive immediately, without any drama from the transmission.

It does this for all different models across the brand. Nothing to worry about.
