Default Excessive Brake squeal

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with excessive brake squeal. When i’m on the brakes in normal city driving, they will sometimes begin to squeal. It is a little odd however because they will only squeal if on the brakes at a certain amount of pedal. In other words, if they start to squeal if i brake a little more or less than the current point it will stop squealing. This also only happens after the brakes warm from city driving. My car is a CPO 2018 XE S (380 hp) and purchased with only 1000 miles. My current service advisor thinks it may have something to do with the fact the car sat for over a year outside. The car was at a dealer in the los angeles area for a year before i purchased, and was also outside and close to the fires in the los angeles, CA area last year. They have checked the brakes multiple times and nothing is inoperable.

Find some place safe and do a few really hard 60-0 braking. Like 3-4x. Pads could be glazed. Report back.

finally got the time to go out early in the morning and do this. I did about 6 full stops at first and a little squeal was left the next day so i did 2 more. No more squeal as of now! Thanks!

I've had this problem since I purchased the car. That 60-0 is to remove glazing on the pads, which does make some sense, but I've had the squealing come back during spirited driving where I'm putting a lot of heat into them. It's really annoying to have an expensive sports sedan squealing like a race car when I pull up to a stop.

I had the same problem on an earlier car (not a Jag).
Hard stops to remove the glaze from the brake pads even taking the pads out and roughing them up by rubbing them on a concrete floor helped a bit, but the squeak/squeal soon came back.
Then I found this magic cure: https://www.ebay.com/itm/CRC-05080-D...AAAOSweP9eTOdW
Completely banished the noise forever!

I think I have removed most of the glaze with those hard stops, but just like yours it does come back when driving more quickly. I also thought that maybe it is because I live in a hot climate, meaning brakes work harder? Temperatures right now are often over 90 and have seen 110 fahrenheit.

I had the same issue on my 2017 XE R-sport. The right front brake rotor was warped and needed to be replaced.

Was this something your dealer checked and saw? I am under certified pre owned warranty and they have assured me twice that they checked the entire system and the only thing they can find is glaze, however this might just be them not wanting to do the work without me having to pay.
