How the new XE rated in the 2015 Drive Car of the Year
Just released in Australia Dec 4th 2015,
2015 Drive Car of the Year: Best luxury car under $80,000
Contenders : Mercedes-Benz C200, Lexus IS200t, Jaguar XE and Holden Calais V .
Ratings : 1st Mercedes-Benz C200
2nd Jaguar XE 20d Prestige
Equal 2nd Lexus IS200t
3rd Holden Calais V
This is what the Judges said of the XE ,
[ Quote ] : The Jaguar XE's standard features aren't quite as impressive.
It has self-braking technology, but active cruse control with forward collision warning is an option, as is adaptive suspension.
The Jaguar's cabin also divided opinion, with some judges impressed by its clean and modern styling, and others dismissing it as boring, with less impressive materials than the Lexus or Mercedes. It also had the tightest back seat space of the group.
Available in petrol or diesel form, the Jaguar was tested with the brand's new Ingenium 2.0-litre diesel engine, a driveline that – while impressively efficient – prompted questions as to whether customers should consider diesel power given how powerful and efficient turbocharged petrol motors have become.
The British contender also drew furrowed brows for 24 month, 36,000 kilometre service intervals that concerned our expert panel.
But there was no doubt surrounding the Jaguar's dynamic ability. Lauded as "immediately gratifying", the sporty sedan won praise for its cat-like reflexes that made it the driver's pick.
"I got more excited about the Jaguar," one judge said.
"It has a sporty bias – it steers really well. [ Unquote ]
There where many other Best Car classes and ratings , but this was all I could find for Jaguar .
Hope you found this useful .

I cant wait to see the XE R, though the Australian reviews have it that the 4 pot handles a little better than the 6 because the weight is behind the front wheels, and I'd expect that would apply moreso with a supercharged 8.
