Question Locking the doors while the battery is disconnected

Hi,

Could someone please help walk me through how to lock the doors on a 2018 Jaguar XE while the battery is disconnected? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum ecroad,

A regular question in model forums is how to get into a Jaguar with a flat battery - not how to lock one.

I'm driving a 2018 X760 this week as a courtesy car whilst my XK is in for warranty work. As the key is a different design, I thought I'd have a look to see how it locks manually. First challenge was finding the emergency key blade (see 1 and 2):




The procedure for locking individual doors is:




Even more important is how to get back in to a locked vehicle with a discharged (or disconnected) battery. I'd give this very serious thought and a try before locking it!
