Loud clicking or relay type noises from under the hood
My car is a 2020 XE P250S. It's amazing and I love it....except for one thing.
When the car starts up, there's a lot of clicking noises from under the hood. It sounds like a relay firing off for a couple seconds. It's worse when the car turns off. People have commented on the noise. It's a bit embarrassing to have these strange clicking noises coming from a car that costs nearly $50K.
I took it to the dealership and had a couple service techs check it out. They seem to think it's basically normal and that it should go away over time. They had me press the engine start button with my foot off the brake so they could listen to it. We did this several times and the clicking happens every time. You can even hear it while the engine is running but it's not constant.
The clicking is not going away and today it lasted for about 4 seconds when I turned the car off. It's rather loud inside my garage.
I'm going to take it back to the dealership on Wednesday and tell them to take care of it. They better not tell me it's normal.
Anyone else have this issue? I might post a video.

I was listening to the sound today and I think it's a centrifugal switch. Every electric motor has a centrifugal switch that opens and closes the circuit. When the electric motor gets to a high enough rpm, it springs open. When the rpm goes down, it closes.
I think the noise I'm hearing is the switch after it's closed. For some reason it's making a lot of noise.
Anyone else got any ideas about this?
