Default Pulled the trigger

just to put it into a fresher thread instead of the "I'm not happy with the idea of an XE" thread, I've put my money where my mouth/typing fingers is/are and ordered the XE as the "family" car. It is an IRR 25T R Sport, 19" Venoms, sunroof, HUD, Jet/Oyster leather, solar glass, tint, flash mats, jet headliner, power boot, DAB radio, 5 year warranty/free servicing. It was already a dealer order so I just took what they are getting even though it has stuff I wouldn't have ordered and doesn't have the black pack which I would have.

Another member put me on to the Skoda Yeti exhaust tips which I've ordered (thanks!). Delivery supposedly at the end of November so I have to say I'm pretty keen, especially after being mightily impressed by a drive of the 20T.

Bruce,

I look forward to your review. We won't see the first cars show up in the US until spring 2016.

You wouldnt believe it, but it has just come out over here that the 2017 XE (probably the one that you'll be getting) comes out with a 10" screen as an option, instead of the 8 inch screen as is in the car that I've ordered for my wife (and which hit Australia yesterday, yay!).

My wife is just going to have to settle for 8 inches.

It costs a penny or two but the 10 inch screen comes bundled with InControl Pro and the 800-odd watt Meridian.

Nevertheless, eight inches is still eight inches.

I'm glad that you can have the 10 inch navigation screen without having the TFT instrument cluster.

Have you got a delivery date? I have not heard from our Melbourne Dealer. I have to keep chasing him. Does your Dealer keep you updated?

haha, my guy told me what ship it was on - the Titania, and I've been following it ever since it came through the Panama canal. It berthed at Port Kembler on Wednesday and the car was unloaded there. It is in Melbourne today http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/det...vessel:TITANIA

Is your car on that one, or was it coming in Feb 16?

Anyway, they will comply my car and put tint on, I'm also going to have the skirts wrapped black I think, then it goes on a truck to come up to the Gold Coast. Should have it within a fortnight. Got my yeti tail finishers ready to go on....

I went to the Dealer yesterday. The two salesman I dealt with weren't there, one has left and one was at a Jaguar course! Finally got a call back with some details . On a boat arriving 18 Dec. Advised that they need 10 days to prep. So it looks like my wife will not have it for Christmas. Very different communication standard to your experience. A new car experience should be a good experience. Picked the wrong dealer?

Nice little review of the 147KW model. They get 0 - 100 in 6.8, so I'm hoping that means that the 177KW will be quicker than the stats say. 2016 Jaguar XE R-Sport 20t review (video) | PerformanceDrive

My wife's car is just about ready to be put on a truck. Much excitement.

Got the car this morning. It is awesome to look at, lovely to drive. The 25T feels a little laggy driven normally but is actually very quick if you give it some juice - it might be the transmission.

I've only driven it for about 15km before I handed it over to my wife, but I'm really looking forward to getting familiar with it. She absolutely loves it.

I'm definitely going to wrap the skirts, I've already kicked them myself. Anyway, I like them in black.

Glad you got the car. I am still waiting! No communication from Brighton Jaguar in Melbourne. Getting very frustrated. Ordered in early September.
Did you fit the Chrome exhaust extensions ?
I look forward to seeing some pictures.

Hey I bought my XKR from brighton Jag. They were great to deal with (Chris Stroumos) though they didn't detail it before sending it up. I got mine quicker because it was on the boat when I ordered it.

Yep, I stuck the extensions on. They go on fine, and my wife commented so they are worth it!

Seriously, these cars look soooo much better in the metal. The driving position is just awesome, similar to the XKR. My only niggle is that the home button on the touchscreen is on the far side (RHS) so I have to stretch to get to it. It will probably be on the nearside in the US, I suppose.

In the end it didn't have the ivory inserts, it is all black leather with white stitching. Looks really classy inside, especially once it lights up with the ignition on.

Will report again once I get a decent drive.

Here is a pic from the dealer before it was trucked up, and one that my daughter's arty boyfriend took of her favourite subjects (the jag and herself), which is actually very nicely done.

Beautiful Bruce!! Love the Venom wheels and the IRR, generally not a fan of red but I'm actually considering it for the XE or F-Pace.
