That'd look good I reckon - maybe under the 25T badge?

I went out to Binna Burra that time. The road is pretty good but very twisty for most of it - about 45km each way from town, depending on where you start from. I've run it out to the Natural Arch as well.

Next week I am thinking of running out to Purlingbrook falls which should be pumping after some rain. That is a particularly unpleasant windy road, but there is a longer was to get to the falls which misses most of the bad stuff, I'll clue you up if you want to try it.

The last one I want to try is O'Reilly's rainforest, which I havent been to. I hear the road is a shocker, so I'll probably make that an overnighter.

Most of my enthusiasm comes from having the car that is fun to drive out there. The XKR is awesome to drive, but you cant put the kids in the back.

oooh how nice! My missus sticks water bottles in hers but I hate that because it is where I like to rest my arm. When you get them tell me how easy they are to get in and out.

I take it that you are enjoying yours? Loving ours, though I am spreading most of my time between my car and a little MiTo I got to teach my daughter to drive in (which I have to say is quite a fun little car). I only get the XE maybe once a week.

 

Bruce,I got the Covers and they are spot on.They are exactly like the photos in the link. You could get them done in Aus ,but a bit of messing about as they are different sizes for the front and rears. They are easy to remove as you have a gap between them. Have a look at the photos.I feel that it now gives a finished look.

Gents how would you compare the 20d, 20t and 25t engines?

I'm a bit confused about which engine to go for..... I have test driven the 25t only so far.

 

I've only driven the 2.0 gasoline turbo in an Evoque and XF. The Evoque felt better due to the extra gear (amazing difference) than the Jags 6 speed (at the time).

In the XF, turbo lag was noticeable but only bad in first gear from a stop. Once moving or on aggressive downshifts, I was very surprised by how strong it felt. I think it would be more than enough for most in the lighter XE (that has 2 more gears than the XF I was in back then).

I haven't been in the Jag turbo diesels yet (until next month when I go back to NOLA) but in the Land Rovers, the diesels are amazingly strong, with a big block feel up to 5,000 rpm. Not a apples to apples, as the Range Rover uses the 3.0 turbo diesel, but even with the 70 hp 120 ft lb difference, it's also moving 4,700 lbs (+ 3 adults weight added) compared to the XE at, 3,700 lb?

If you like high reving rpm shifting, with pull at the top, you won't be disappointed with the 2.0 gas engine. If low end grunt is more in tune with your driving style the turbo diesel shouldn't disappoint.

I have the 25t. I know that the only difference to 20t is software. I have no regrets in spending the extra for the 25t . In Sport or Dynamic it goes like a scalded cat!
