South Florida Jag Mechanic (installed crank pulley today)
#22
i am RWD so 0-60 will definitely be limited by traction. I need to run a few 1/4 mile runs. Iv done 60-120 as well at stage 2 and haven’t beaten my best stage 1 time (not off by far). But I can’t compare those because my best times were in 50 degree weather and it’s 75+ in Florida right now haha. So that always makes a difference. But Idk, even with hot weather I think I should see more gains. I honestly think I accidentally got two stage 1 tunes and my slight gains are more from the pulley and new tires. I shall repost once I hear from stuart and team.

i figured as much since there is no CEL. Which is why my best guess is i somehow have two Stage 1 tunes loaded on my V-tech. But we shall see. I'll keep ya'll posted

In case anyone is interested, here is a list of my best dragy times. I haven't done much stage 2 testing and as you can see the temp / DA fluctuates like crazy so its not so black and white.
I also apologize for the incredibly confusing graph. my brain couldn't figure out a good way to compile the info

@Anthony Zayas Sorry for delayed response. Chris from VAP said it could be multiple problems "The only “big” difference between the stg1 and stg2; is the ability for the crank pulley to increase the charged pressure. On the stg1 file with a crank pulley added, the system would go into a limp mode and not allow over stock boost/charged pressure. The stg2 simply allows the increase in charged pressure to not enter a limp mode status.
Now, in both scenarios, the file will only be able to produce peak power if the pump fuel utilized will allow the max ignition timing. If your local pump fuel is pulling timing on a stg1 file, then by adding a crank pulley and trying to make loads of more power would be a far stretch. Odds are if you’re not feeling a huge difference in power with the crank pulley, that would mean your stg1 file wasn’t even making the peak power available due to the fuel quality and/or other performance robbing issues like improper spark plug gap, too much fuel in oil forcing lean LTFT, carbon build-up..etc"
only way to tell is with datalogger that gives that info so i caved and bout the VAP datalogger which just arrived today. I'll be collecting the data to send to Chris to analyze and update you on what he says!

FYI: I waited till after my full servicing (oil change, injector cleaning, etc.) at my dealer before going Stage 2. I bought the car at 29k miles and it wasn't tuned stage 1 til 38k.... so i dont think carbon build up could be the issue but who knows.
I also live where i have constant access to 93 octane and get my gas at costco 98% of the time (which i may be mistaken, but have read is good fuel). I make sure to let the car fully warm up before pushing it, and almost never go for a drive less than 5 minutes (work and everything else are far for me). Spark plug gapping could definitely be the culprit
we shall see!

Sorry @Anthony Zayas .... i only took a year to respond
I think Chris at VAP was right and it was a mix of spark plugs and gas quality. I just had spark plugs replaced. Also i switched from costco 93 to chevron 93, which seems to do much better. any other 93 octane gas mixed with some E85 also makes a noticeable difference but not much more than chevron by itself which from what i read is just great gas overall.
Even as my car gets up in miles, i keep clocking personal bests in 0-60, 1/4 mile, and 60-120
To date my bests are:
0-60 = 4.52 (4.31 with 1ft rollout)
1/4 mile = 12.89 @ 109.31mph ( i believe this was with E30 blend but the DA was also 2059ft so ill take it)
0-100 = 10.85
60-120 = 9.81 on a atypical cold south florida day (45 degrees).
I've learned the very cold days are when i get my best 60-120 since traction isn't an issue. my best 0-60 and 1/4 miles are on a nice day (60s) and sunny since my car is RWD. the heat of the tires and road seem to help the launch
