My dealer in Florida sent me an email that Jaguar does not have an open order for the XE yet, with no information of when it will open. Frustrating. I did have a chance to see other models on the lot in my choice of color, Dark Sapphire Blue. Looks great and different in all types of lighting.

I think they are waiting for the car to "settle down" in terms of faults on introduction, before sales begin in the toughest auto market in the world ! I am sure there will be quite a few things needing sorting out on the early models.

 

At least you can get on the US web site build and price one then reserve it as I have done My dealer is saying April May delivery Hope she is right!

 

My local dealer contacted me last week and I was able to send her a PDF of my order from the Jaguar website. I had already put down 500$ on the web site last month to preorder and get a free nav upgrade or equivalent. They are entering it into their computer, but she stated that Jaguar is still not accepting orders as of yet. In previous conversations, she had mentioned a March/April delivery, but now she stated April /May. Really long roll out to America in my opinion, especially with all the build up in the press. I guess good things come to those that wait.

 

In the meantime, I found this 1960-1970's era hood ornament by luck. As a kid, I always admired this on the hood of a classic Jag. At least I'll have it as a cool paperweight.

 

I can repeat what I wrote a month ago. My (US) dealer emailed me today and stated Jaguar is still not accepting orders on the XE, with no information on when they will. The wait continues. If there was another close competitive car in my search, I may have walked by now. There wasn't, so I'll wait.

 

I commend you greatly for waiting, although that much beauty should definitely be worth it. Good Luck to you!

I guess it must depend on where you live as I have one on order here in MD and am going to the Washington Auto Show today to see one

The dealer here in Florida has taken my order info and they are waiting for Jaguar to accept it. They stated that the "order call has not been opened by Jaguar". They think my car could arrive in May, June, but now I'm wondering if that is accurate as the months go by before the " real" order is accepted. Check with your dealer, I'm curious if your order is just in holding.
