I'd look for a used set of XE wheels and put winter tires on them. You won't have to worry on offsets and all that. I don't think you'll need to downsize at all. I have winter wheels on my Rapide and they are the same size. Kept the same size as the summer wheels on Jags I had with winter tires too.

Wheel sets should be easy to find on eBay.

I wound up getting a set of the factory 19-inchers. And went with the Pirreli Sotto Zero 3 tires.

No traction issues with my 3.5t, RWD in 5 inches of wet snow.

Now, being in Boston would be a real test in the winter, that's for sure.

Can I downsize to 17s or 18s with no clearance issues? Are the brakes the same on all XEs?

I am pretty sure the brakes are the same size except for possibly the S. 18's will be safe. You can always call your local JLR dealer and ask them.

So it took way longer than it should have and a lot of research. Jaguar dealers were useless. Turns out TSW has a few 18s that fit and clearanced my brakes. if you have a 35t r sport awd TSW 18s will work. I upsized the tire a bit for more sidewall, not as bad as i thought it would be.

Opi, those look great! I have a 2017 XE 35t R-sport AWD as well (stock 19") and wasn't able to find 18" wheels that cleared my brakes before I ran out of time to get winters on. I ended up with 19" Nokian Hakkepellittas that have been perfectly fine. I'd be interested to hear how you like the 18" winters. Thanks for letting us know!
