Default XE 3.0 SC Tuning

Hi,

Recently bought a Jaguar XE 3.0 S, and loving it. I have taken the plunge and just received my remote tuner from DAE to allow me to upgrade to Velocity AP stage 1. Has anyone here already done this here on the forum. I know a lot of F-type owners have, but how many XE S have been done. What are your thoughts on the tune yourself?

Regards

Jay

Copying my response from a separate thread:

----------------------------
I tested 0-60 using a Dragy late last year-- don't have any pictures of the best Tune + Pulley run as I never downloaded the app on my new phone. Did a few runs of each stage within a few days of each other. Results were as follows:

- Stock: 5.12 seconds (4.89 w/ 1ft rollout) | 68* F | DA 2790ft
- Tune Only : 4.55 seconds (4.33 w/ 1ft rollout) | 48* F | DA 536ft
- Tune + Pulley: 4.40 seconds (4.21 w/ 1ft rollout) | 52* F | DA 1162ft

The best Tune + Pulley run I had was ~ 4.3 seconds (4.1 w/ 1ft rollout). All were run on 35T AWD with stock Pirelli P7 tires on a less than ideal unprepped road, Dynamic Mode + Trac Off + Manual mode on "S", ~ 1/3 tank of gas.
-----------------------------

Overall Stage 1 feels better coming from the 35t tune (335hp). You can really tell a difference in how the car pulls at higher speeds. Stage 2 is definitely a more dramatic improvement throughout the entire rev range.

DAE? did you just buy the VAP one? I was confused by you got a tuner to get that upgrade. but isn't that upgrade just a tuner as well? lol

Small update

I have been running the stage 1 now for almost a week and the extra performance is very noticible. It is quicker but also very smooth as the power builds up which suits the jag. There is a bit more supercharger whine as the revs build up too. Absolutely loving it, and my friends love it too as it is quite stealthy and not shouty like an M3 etc.

It was an easy enough process to download the original map and send it to Chris over at Velocity AP. A couple of days later and a new map is emailed across and a 5 minute install. He is happy to answer any questions you have.

Stage 2 will be installed in the summer
