XE Auto lurched Forward
Hi to everyone,
I have had 4 occasions recently where the car has tried to move forward with my foot on the brake when ive come to a stop at traffic lights or a junction. The revs rise and the car wants to go even though i'm not touching the accelerator. I have to put it in neutral to let it settle. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue in the past? Possibly a faulty MAF sensor or pedal etc etc??? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Jason

Looks like i've found the issue. Accelerator pedal might be sticking a little at the very start of the travel, as i came to a stop today the car was revving at 2000rpm, i tapped the accelerator up (felt like it didn't actually move) and the revs dropped. Has anyone changed one themselves? Is it a simple plug and play?

This is not something I have come across, but needs fixing asap, so I would check the pedal for travel with the engine running but the car not in gear, to see where it might be sticking. Obviously there is a pivot point somewhere, but it could be the throttle potentiometer as I beleive these cars have fly-by-wire throttles. Best if you can to take it to a Jaguar specialist if your investigations find nothing amiss.
