Default XE Feel - XE skeleton pics

For me, these pics tell a lot more about what the car has in store for it than the completed vehicle does. Look at the various holes and whatnot in the body and you can see where this vehicle has a lot of things that will be coming to it.

Just to expound on some of the images.

If you look at the interior, you can see where the unframing is set up to have the XJ "2 tier" dash setup. Along those same lines, if you look at the right rear passenger seat area, you will see a whole in the sheetmetal for what I believe to be an access to get at the fuel pump/tank. This is one of those "shortfalls" that the X-Type had but was added to later vehicles.

If you look at the engine, this may give some of the motorheads an idea of what the internals of the I-4 motor look like and what options may be available for getting more power out of the motor. Along these same lines, I can see where sliding in the supercharged V6 would be easy and adding in the V8 (whatever version that they may choose, but has never had any mention of it) would be possible.

Granted, along those same lines, I am not seeing the addition of AWD without some other tweaks to the frame/understructure. There is not much of a gap between the cross members and the engine to allow the addition of a front differential. But, I would want to see how they do the AWD on the XF and maybe that will make a bit more sense to me.

If you have other questions about what you are looking at, let me know. Seeing it in person, I got to see the car at many more angles than the pictures can show. I will give you my impression of what I think the various holes are for or why things look the way that they do.

Ohhh, heads up display! Yes please! I have one on my Buick and I find it to be much more useful than one would have thought.
