Drool....
That will be at least a 90K car (Prolly over $110K usd)...but if I had the money....this would be a great match against Godzilla, and with four doors! https://www.nissanusa.com/sportscars/gt-r/nismo
I've been fantasizing about a v8 engine swap 10 - 15 years from now, from the day I bought my car, knowing it was a long block.
The SVO is bound to have way better braking, advanced handling, and a lower ride stance for sure....
From the picture you can see the wider wheel wells...so the rubber is wider all the way around. (10.5 rears perhaps? They still look staggered....) Necessary to tie all that power to the road...
And there is probably a helluva lot more going on with cooling systems to handle the additional heat loads....looks from the pictures that the intakes were enlarged, and I would not be surprised if they went with dual intercoolers...it will be a friggin beast!
This also may be one of the last all gas supercars Jaguar develops, with almost of all Jaguars new development investments going into in electric assist /hybrid technology, or pure electric like the F-pace concept they are promoting heavily . For instance the 2018 Nismo will be a hybrid...and Tesla rules the acceleration podium. Electric is here.
The problem is as good as this V8 XE engine will be, the F-Pace electric concept puts out 516 Ft/lbs of torque..instantaneously. Gas engines just cannot compete from a performance/hp level, and if Batteries move to "Battery Bag" technology the weight issue will also soon be minimized...
Charging time is still a consideration though....I can fill my tank in three minutes. And I love the sound of my combustion engine.
Can't wait to see this V8 XE come to life! It will sound awesome!

The XE might compete against some of the stock cars you mentioned but never hold a candle to any of them modded even a Lil bit.
And GTR? Never even come close in any category, Godzilla rules the streets even though I hate them. I sold mine in just a few months, hated Nissans quality but it had serious brute force and can't be beat for the dollar.
Im not saying the Project 8 ain't mega cool and I want one, I'm just saying it won't hold any water next to the competition mentioned for MY vs MY

....would rule the HP podium...you simply cannot get the 1000Hp that some people are squeezing out of those powerplants out of the Jag without spending another $10 to $20K and doing serious mods as well.
That being said, HP is not the only standard by which I judge a car, and I like having four doors....but I hear ya man!

While I'm not obsessed about 'ring times for cars I am interested because I (shamefaced) have been known to spend quite a bit of time on the PC with the wheel setup, and I must have done the full nurburgring course maybe 100 times in different cars on Forza Mororsport 6 Apex and still struggle getting below high 8 minutes no matter how good the car is.
Anyway that got me thinking of lap times for professionals, hence I looked at this https://nurburgringlaptimes.com/lap-times-top-100/
Of real interest (to me at least) is that the XJ220 run in 1992 is still there in the top 100. It is the oldest time by far, there is only one other before 2000 and that was in '99. Pretty good going. And it links to the video.
Maybe another Jag to go on there shortly?

I saw a dark blue XJ220 last weekend and it is still as stunning looking today as it was when it first came out. I wish Jaguar would just make something like that again with SC 5.0 V8 in it... Or even better that their partnership with Williams actually amounts to something. JLR could get into as an engine supplier in F1, but could be hard to convince Williams since the last couple of seasons have been solid for them ever since Martini became a sponsor. A line of Williams inspired Jag's could really put the screws to AMG, M, and the like for performance branded cars. Add a British designer to appoint the interiors and it's a British tour de force...

Considering this is Jaguars fastest/highest HP supercar to date, I assure you the braking system will be taken care of. I'm now guessing they will be selling these for $150 to $200K, based upon what they got for the Project 7 cars.

If they hold true to form, the braking system will be considerable, like the Project 7 here.
