Hello to you all,
Never owned a Jag before and looking to purchase the above model. I have been on the Jaguar website and put together a build and Jag have quoted 3-6 months build, local dealer is quoting 12 mths. I have queried this with jaguar and they are adamant its 3-6 max.
I have added a few extras Panoramic sunroof also in Carpathian grey with light oyster colour seats, is there anything else I should consider, I will say I am trying to keep the total build to under the £40K luxury car tax limit in the UK.
Has anyone here placed an order for a XE and how long did they wait or are you still waiting? Other point to mention is it worth getting service packs of what should I be aware of with this model.
I have had diesels in the past and as my milage is now quite low and I am nearly 60 I have decided on a petrol model and a treat for my 60th birthday as I have never spent this amount of money on a car before so looking for a bit of guidance from you experts.
Regards Jim UK

On a UK XE forum there's a 40+ page thread by guys who have waited for up to 1.5 yrs and some who just gave up.
You should believe the dealer, not JLR marketing.
You should be aware that XE production could cease at any time, and I will be surprised if it lasts a year. The F-type, which shared many XE components, ceased production about a month ago.
JLR has said that there will be no XE replacement car.
Not good news for Jag lovers, but it is what it is!

And not just no replacement XE, but no replacement for any of the current line-up !
Under the Bollore regime Jaguar decided to become an all-electric car maker, and also move the cars up-market to the stratosphere with a minimum price level of £100k. So they have essentially kissed goodbye to all, repeat ALL their existing customers. EIther a very bold or very foolish decision; time will tell us which. Can you see Bentley, Rolls-Royce and other very expensive makes let Jaguar eat their lunch ? I can't see it myslef.
However the effect on all Jaguar owners will be that spare parts will become increasingly expensive or unavailable.
