Default Xe Spec and BHP

Hi all,
I just purchased a 2015 xe yesterday.
Please can anyone help with the following three questions?
1. How can I find the original car spec from my VIN. SAJAB4AN1GA926624
2. Can the BHP be increased from 163BHP?
3. Can the online service history easily be accessed?

many thanks
Nigel

Welcome to the forums Nigel,

1. The VIN does NOT give the specification. It only gives the following basic information:

PREFIX 1 to 3
World Manufacturing Identifier

PREFIX 4
Market & Airbag Specification

PREFIX 5
Transmission & Steering

PREFIX 6 & 7
Body Code

PREFIX 8
Emission

PREFIX 9
Check Digit

PREFIX 10
Model Year

PREFIX 11
Assembly Plant

PREFIX 12 to 17
Production Number

For the specification, you require the Build Sheet. This is available on Jaguar TOPIx but access to the information requires a paid subscription by the hour, day etc. Alternatively, a Jaguar Dealer may print it off for you.

3. OnLine Service History (OSH) is only available for European market vehicles. All you need is the VIN and you (or anyone) can access it:
https://osh.jaguar.com/

It used to require an account and password but this security was removed.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Many thanks for your help with this Graham - really appreciated.
Unfortunately I don’t have a Topix account- it would have been good to see the original spec and colour details.

I looked at a number of these XEs before buying (some very low mileage) and all of them had while smoke coming out when the dipstick or oil filler was removed - this seems a standard situation- not a problem?

I've no experience with diesel Jaguar engines so I'll leave it to those who have to comment on the smoke.
