XES noise at warm start

XES noise at warm start
Hello,
i own a jaguar XES since around five years. I really love this car, but since about four weeks i have some problems with my engine. I tried to get help from jaguar germany, some other workshops, your forum, youtube and so on...
I tried to find similar issues in this forum, but did not found exactly the same.
The engine produces some weird noices after warm start for around 10 to 30 seconds. I attached an audio file. I think It sounds not like the supercharger coupler, different as the timing chain/tensoniers and i hope not, like the main bearings.
I tried to pull of the plugs of the VVTs, checked the bearing of waterpump, belt tensioniers, supercharger and heard nothing. Just at the top of the left clinder bank and at the high pressure fuel line on the top of the supercharger was some noise.
Does anyone could help me?
The car is an XES from 2016 with 85.000 kilometers (should be around 53.000 miles) with fresh oil change (the noise is still there)
Thank you very much,
Manuel

Listened, but difficult to say. Have you tried the old mechanic's "stethoscope" trick to source the noise using a long screwdriver ?

Hello Mitchell,
yes i‘ve tried. Not with a screwdriver but with an stethoscope. Thats was what i tried to say with this:
“checked the bearings of waterpump, belt tensioniers, supercharger,...“
just on the top of the left cylinder bank i heard some noises. So i thought it might be one of the VVTs. But after i pull the plugs, nothing changed. Unplugged the locking pin does not open, right?
thank you

I see... i have to open the valve covers, but i think i have to remove the supercharger first.
then i could test, if the camshaft snap after the highest point of the cams and the VVTs are damaged.
I still think that a loose timing chain and a bad supercharger coupler sounds different?
I use 0w20 Oil as recommended. The noise is just at warm startup, not cold start.
it is really sad, that i can‘t find a good jaguar workshop in germany....

When I was on holiday in Germany a few years ago, (we've been going almost every year since 2008), I thought I could hear a wheel bearing noise, so took the car to the Jaguar main agent in Mainz. We were staying in a ferienwohnung at Bacharach at the time. They were very, very helpful, and what's more, didn't charge me for a brief road test. No fault was found, BTW. Of course main agents have high labour charges, but it may be prudent to take your car to a main agent for an opinion. Main agents normally charge for investigations, but if they do repair work, give a credit on the final bill for this. It will be difficult to find an independent Jaguar workshop due the low sales of Jaguar in Germany, but I saw a lot of Land Rovers and the current models use the Ingenium engine same as in your car, so a Land Rover agent or independent may be able to also help.

Jaguar needs to step up the game on their marketing plan. They need more Media Advertisement in order to survive. Why are Advertisements so effective? Because you tell everyone that you still exist and here are the products on our lineups. Even Volvo is aggressively paying more Ads than ever before to compete with Japanese, German & Korean automobiles. Volvo does not want end up another Saab.
