2009 xf 4.2
Good morning.
I was considering taking a look at a 2009 XF 4.2 with 108K miles. Unknown service history but inspected by the selling dealer. Yeah, who knows!
I have read many posts regarding cooling system and electrical issues. These bring up many concerns to me.
However, I realize people post their problems and complain, but how many drivers actually have no major issues and are out driving and enjoying their cars? That’s my question.
I’m currently in a 2003 X-Type 2.5 which has been a great car, other than replacement of all 6 COP coils. Just basic maintenance by myself for 7 years. Regardless of driver reports, it’s been a fantastic car and trouble free.
Any comments would be appreciated!
tThsnk you in advance!

nicktee55 I think you found out what I did?
All the bad press about Jaguar drives the used car prices down to nothing. Hardly anyone will buy one and the dealers just want them off their lots. But my experience has been very similar to yours.
Had a 2005 S Type R as a daily driver for 6-7 years (It had the same 4.2L V-8 as the XF) and drove it to 132K miles. Very minor troubles that I fixed myself with the help of this forum. Then I went to a 2014 XJR that currently has about 48K miles on it. A water pump (under warranty) and one O2 sensor has been it.
Extremely reliable so far!
