Default ? for 2016 XF-R

just got the new XF-R. quite different from my 2013. if anyone has one, I have a few questions. Manual doesn't answer.

1)The Jaguar light on the dashboard by windshield willcome on when we turn on the interior light. How do we get it to stay onall the time?
2)On the other Jag, we could browse throughour preset radio stations by using the dial on the steering wheel. Now,when I press the arrow buttons on steering wheel, it goes through tuning the radio rather than mypresets.
3)Trying to find the auto high beamfeature. Went under general settings but cant find. also not under Driver settings

There isn't a 2016 XFR yet. There is a 2016 XF R-Sport. It's confusing and I wish Jaguar wouldn't have done it this way. The R-Sport is just a trim level. It has a more sporting exterior and a few more interior options.

I'd be right back at the dealership and have them answer those questions.

anyone have the 2016 XF that can answer #2? dealer is clueless. very frustrating having to keep tapping on the screen to choose presets (not to mention a distraction) I wish there is an answer.

Also, No CD player???? I don't think most people buying a Jag are millenials who have everything on an Ipod. very sad

On some cars the steering wheel controls tune up and down when you have selected a station by tuning to it, and run up and down the pre sets when you have selected a preset station. So maybe worth trying to get to a preset station on the touch screen, make sure the presets above that number are programmed and try it then?
If not, that's an unusual setup...

1. The light is only with the interior lights. It would be a distraction if it were always illuminated at night.

2. Have not had that problem. I preset all the stations and they seem to tune with the wheel controls. I have however had presets lost somehow, set them and they never show up again.

3. As far as I see, it is automatic and depends on traffic and lighting conditions. It does not work on the freeway if there is other traffic close by. You can override it by using the stalk control where the highs will be on all the time.

The 3. above may be different than yours, as I have the XF-S with every option available as of Feb 2016. Option packages may differ.

Just checked again and the auto high beams are standard with the S model with LED headlights. Maybe not with the R?
Full LED headlamps, adaptive and automatic High beam assist

If you have that feature, you activate it by placing the stalk in the high beam position when the headlight switch is on AUTO. It only will work when the lighting allows the headlights to,operate automatically. To cancel the auto high beam, pull the stalk to the Flash to Pass and release and I believe it goes off. There should be an indication on the display when you turn it on.

For #3, it is under Vehicle Settings menu.

From the manual: The Auto High Beam Assist (AHBA) feature automatically selects and deselects high beam, under specific conditions of road lighting and in the absence of other vehicle’s lights. The system is only active when the ambient light drops below a predetermined level.

For AHBA to become operational, the lighting control must be in the AUTO position, with dipped beam headlights selected.

#2 which button on steering wheel you use? on the left are the arrows. the top and bottom adjust volume. the left right arrow would theoretically move to next preset. but when pressed, tunes to next station above the preset. does not go to next preset. it is really a pain to have to keep touching the on screen display to move across presets.

I have the 2017 XF Sport. Tapping the left/right arrows quickly (short tap) will go through presets. If you tap the left/right arrows until the channel changes you will go through all available channels.

Hope that helps.
