2016 XF sunroof shade won't close all the way

for some reason my sunroof shade wont close all the way. the sunroof wouldnt close for a while, it went back and forth but finaly closed, but the sunshade will move back and forth but stops about 8 inches from fully closed. does anyone know what this could be and how to fix it?

The usual reason for sticking is dirt or debris in the track. The motor trips to avoid damage or overheating:
If holding the switch as described doesn't override the anti-trap mechanism, try a reset:
If that still fails to resolve the issue, dismantling is likely to be required.
