2017 XF 35t Reliability

Purchased my 35t AWD at the end of June with 34k miles on it. Brake pads worn message came on shortly after and this week I had a check engine light which was a bad o2 sensor that was replaced. The factory warranty ends at the start of September but since it was sold as a certified pre owned at one point I have a year of that warranty (but a tech told me it's not as good as the normal warranty.)
I really want the Velocity AP tune (without the pulley upgrade) but I don't want it costing me thousands of $$$ more should something big need replacing and my warranty being void from the tune. I'm trying to evaluate my level of risk. I heard the o2 sensor going bad was a common thing. Are there any other parts that generally need replacing that are covered under warranty during the first 3-5 years of ownership? How reliable has your XF (preferably with the supercharged v6) been?

Had a mirror motor replaced after first month of ownership and nothing else in 5 years. Last "free" service coming up in 3 days. Have a highly intermittent failure to lift trunk lid problem they couldn't get to fail in last year's service to be addressed again. 78% of front and 86% of rear pads remaining after 20K miles. I rotate tires every 5K miles and the wear has been 46% average and even across all corners. Some tire "chunking" noticed on inside right passenger treads on last rotation and seems to be somewhat common. One of the more, if not the most, reliable car I've owned.

Watch all the YT videos about XF 35t, & you wouldn't see or hear anyone badmouthing that vehicle. Lots of praise of whoever owns it or test it. Of course there are CONS, but overall, a Thumbs Up. I watched a video about Scotty Kilmer trashing Jaguar as "endless money pit", but when I read the comments of Jaguar owners in defense of the cars they owned, I was just laughing how they destroyed Scotty's ego.

Hello Again..
Any chance you can ask for 4 ounces of used oil for analysis?
Getting mine done next month and already have my Blackstone beaker for the 16k mile interval analysis!
And Hello RTRC,
My '17 35t has 49k and apart from a dying battery has been quite robust. Beat my Alfa hands down!
If you keep it another year, Go VAP tune after the CPO ends maybe to avoid any warranty concerns?

I wasn't planning on analysis for another year but yea, I'll send one to Blackstone. I'm assuming it's the tube in the center of the filler spout opening? I don't have an oil vacuum, just a dodgy hand pump, but with 0W-20 it can't be that hard to suck it up
Since I'm only doing about 5K/yr. I'm planning on changes every two years. This will give me a good baseline for 1 year. When I get the results I'll start another thread on the analysis.

If Jag dealer is changing the oil for the final time, they'll gladly save you 4-5 ounces of spent oil.

Longtime XKR owner, new to an XF. Lots of tunes (and discussion of tunes) in the XKR world. Long story short, I'd hold off on the tune until you're out of CPO. Also, if you're not going to do a pulley swap: if you get an injector issue or the like, they should be able to wipe the tune and reinstal after work is done.
