Hi all, just bought my new car 3 montsh ago. Anyone else having problems moving the shifter ? Intermittently, I cannot move it out of D. I either have to trun the car off and it goes into P, or I have to step on the brake with both feet to finally get it to engage.
Had trouble a couple of times getting it out of N into D- both times was at a car wash and nerve wracking as there was a car right on my bumper.
HAve had it back to dealership twice, they cannot find anything with diagnostics or when they drove it ??????

My guess is a maladjusted or faulty stop light switch. A possible workaround until solved is to engage the P brake (switch), hold your foot on the brake pedal when it descends, then try the shifter.
