Can’t seem to get a definitive answer about this. It’s seems crazy that the driver can’t opt out of this feature. I know it my other vehicle, 2020 Volvo v60 it can be disabled once and not every time I drive it. From what I gather by searching Jaguar does not want this feature set to off except each time you start the car. Can this feature be reversed with a software change by the dealership? I know they won’t want to do it but I just would like clarification, if any of you know first hand, can it be done? Personally find it close to dangerous at times when I want to accelerate and it shuts off right before I hit the gas.
Thanks for any help

Don't know where you're located but in the USA that would be illegal and probably the same in EU and UK as well. There's only disadvantages to disabling it with the software as compared with the hardware.

In Europe at least there are increasingly onerous restrictions imposed by green virtue-signalling governments on the overall carbon dioxide emissions from all the ICE cars a manufacturer sells. So the manufacturers look for all ways to squeeze even fractions of a mpg fuel consumption improvement under test conditions from all their cars. Stop-start gives such an improvement under test conditions (even though its real world effect is more doubtful), but to qualify under Government rules it must be on by default. I guess we're lucky that JLR has not (yet) eliminated the option to turn it off!
I have a suspicion that, next, we'll see ECO mode on by default as well.
I've now gotten used to turning off stop-start every time I start my Jag - it's a bit irritating but not too onerous.

It seems inconsistent as far as some other manufacturers address this, as I said my 2020 Volvo V60 gives the operator the option of opting in instead of out. I believe BMW does as well. Again not a big deal, but at rare times I find it dangerous, as others have posted. Thanks for the input.
