I have a XF 2016 with incontrol and the all touch screen.

When i connect my phone (tried with Samsung S8 and Iphone) over bluetooth all works fine, except that i have over 1500+ songs on my mobile. But the media player on the XF only reconizes 1000 max songs.

Anyone a idea?

 

Mine seems to be the same (I have a 2017 35T with the Technology package and so called 850 W Meridian sound system). I have over 7500 songs on my iPhone X, and it will not search or allow me to use the playlists in the media player. It just locks up. Totally useless. My wife's 2018 X3 works fine with the phone and I have access to my entire library from the screen. I can search, pick from my playlists etc. with no problems. On my Jaguar I have to select tunes from the phone directly. I have asked the dealer to investigate and they always comes back with it works as expected. I had not put together that it may be a specific limit to the number songs it could handle e.g. 1000, but that sounds like a reasonable idea. Interesting that a $70K + car has a terrible in car entertainment package. Rentals such a Camry and Impala handle it fine, but not Jaguar. Hmmm.

Like you, if some one has a cure, or an upgrade etc. that will make it work, then I am all ears. Otherwise I am resigned to the fact that my Jag has an almost totally useless in car media player. No better than cars of 10 years ago. (I will not even start on how poor the in car navigation system is - the routing algorithms have been designed by someone with shares in an oil company. It regularly routes me on a 74 mile journey on an interesting 107 mile round about route that is slower!!).
