Angry boot liner

Hi
have just bought an 18 reg XF rsport saloon
there is no liner covering the roof of the boot-it is bare metal only
Can a few of you check your boots and let me know if bare metal is standard or if someone looks to have removed the boot roof liner
thanks
Gordon

My 17 R-Sport has the typical black, formed black rat fur liner

Here's the relevant section from JEPC (the Parts Catalogue) showing what you should have:

Well spotted Porscheluxe. I read ROOF OF THE BOOT and thought the interior top panel instead of the TAILGATE.

Here's the Tailgate Trim Panel P/N's:

Dunno, GGG, you're probably right, my impulse was trunk lid. I haven't stuck my head that deeply into the trunk or rear parcel shelf (is that still a thing?) to know what that area looks like, and I still don't care enough to find out. ;-)

Mine doesn't have it and none of them do. It's a cost cutting thing by Jag. My old XF had liner everywhere because Jag was owned by Ford then and they didn't cut corners when designing this important model for their line-up, but Tata decided the XF isn't important anymore since SUV's are taking over and cut as many corners as they could.

I've taken many parts off my XF in the year that I've had it fitting my dashcam, fitting wood vinyl to that horrible black plastic crap on the doors and dash and installing my own ambient lighting and I gotta say, the clips they used and retainers are cheap and brittle compared to my Mazda CX5. They are just bad and I don't think our XF's will last very long. When I get rid of this one, I'll probably be looking to buy an old facelift XF again as they are true Jaguars when it comes to the leather, the wood and general quality of all components used. The engines on our cars are better though. If you're interested in checking out how I did all these things to my XF, check it out at my YouTube channel
