Welcome..
As a'17 x260 owner, I'd suggest starting your search here;
https://inventory.jaguarusa.com/used-certified/
10 months into ownership and only 2 unexpected dealer visits:
1 for a dying battery that produced 4 spurious MIL's.
1 for a coolant hose that was leaking fluid.
Had my Annual oil change & free brake fluid change last October.
Love driving it and considering a '21 CPO in 30 months!

Service Records...
Buy the one with complete, consistent, verifiable service records. Who serviced? Where? When? What was done? There aren't that many places to take a Jag, so it's not like a Chevy where they may have gone to a different Jiffy Lube every 3 months. Jag records are typically at a dealer or quality local shop recognized for working on Jags. It's shouldn't be hard to find them. If you can't get that, unless you're ok being at risk for buying someone else's problems, I'd keep looking. Hidden issues with internals/electronics/trans. can cost $1000's before you can click your fingers. Good luck!

I bought a used 2017 from a dealer. Do check a dealer's records on the repair and maintenance hiistory. There is a central data bank maintained by Jaguar for that purpose.
See how much warranty is left and see if you are getting the now tail end of it.
The dealer had replaced the battery on mine. That is about due now and it seems like a tricky operation judging from various experiences expressed on this forum.
I have the 3.0 supercharged model. Runs great. No regrets. Big discount over the new price. I plan to keep it for a long time.
I have not gotten the Bluetooth to work with my iphone. It works for a day or two if I spend 30 minutes getting it to sync, but then I loose connection.
It has an annoying automatic engine kill when you stop the car for a minute. Saves fuel. There is a cure described on this forum.
Good luck,
P.

Exactly this part#, although its placement in the engine I don't recall 6 months later.. perhaps connects to the expansion tank as its name suggests.

Touch Wood.. no coolant leaks since then as I check it almost daily.. (hey, its a Jag)

- PPF Pre Purchase Inspection - Have the car taken to a JLR dealership, pay them $200-$300 for an inspection. They should be able to give you a detailed daignostic of the conition of the car. Alternatively, if you know a good reliable mechanic, pay them a visit instead.
- As with any modern car with electronics, having warranty is a safe bet.
- Avoid used car dealerships
- Avoid auction cars
- Avoid cars out of warranty (you will not be eligible to extend the warranty with Jaguar once the original warranty has expired. In case of jaguar, the standard warranty here in Canada is 4 years 80k KMs I believe and so a 2017 example may be out of warranty already
- Avoid cars that have been involved in an accident (declared or not), some good clues are repainted body pannels - look for orange peel or inconsitency in paint
The 2.0l Petrol engine (Not sure about the diesel variant) is a Ford powerplant found in cars such as the Focus, Escape, etc. Are they reliable? In comparision to the 3.0 and 5.0 Supercharged engines, yes. They do lack in power though, something to keep in mind, especially if you are under the impression that the XF is a sports car. With the right engine, it can be but the 2.0l isn't it.
The Portfolio trim is relatively rare, especially in the x260 generation (Cant speak for Europe). The portfolio models comes with top of the line Windsor leather (Similar to Nappa from BMW) on Dash, top of the door cars, and seats. You also get ambient lighting and illuminated door sills. The seats are more comfortable with maximum adjustment (less than XF S seats though). Alcantara/suede headliner. I believe thats about it, the portfolio trim are usually loaded but some stand alone options are, well extra. I'm refering to radar cruise control, blind spot monitors.
