Connectivity for the x260
Hi all, just wondering if all x260 Jaguar XF's have or should have wifi connectivity (Not sim card/mobile network)
My car has the InControl Touch Pro Infotainment system, version 18c and the centre console panel with 2 USB's and an HDMI port
There are no wi-fi settings/options on the screen, but curiously a few minutes after I unlock the car, my phone will pick up the wireless network called "JAGY41104"......but I don't know the password so I'm not sure what that is for.
seems a bit strange to have options to update the ICTP....if there is no way to connect the system to the internet.
On Jaguars (Australia) website it says for version 19B (quote) "Vehicle systems that were previously unable to connect to Wi-Fi for wireless software updates can now do so. This will enable future wireless InControl Touch Pro software updates for these vehicles"
Unless I'm reading it wrong, to me this indicates that all XF's have the wifi module, but access is restricted until that update is done,
Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Hi:
A mysterious area of the XF.
You are supposed to have Bluetooth that runs off your phone, the SIM card function that connects to cell towers. I got mine working twice for a couple days each but then the link dies and I stopped trying. Apple phone. I have heard rumors of software updates from the dealer but have not pursued it.
The Owner's Manual describes something about how you can set up your car so you can start it remotely from the internet, which must mean that your car would have it's own independent access to cell towers. I don't know how that works.
Your mapping program knows where your car is on the map, I am guessing that is a GPS system.
So ask the dealer to see what the status of your car might be and what the previous owner did with it.
And report back.
I envy you finding a red one.
