CV Axle Removal, Impossible to Get Out!
Hey all,
So I have an '18 XF which I'm trying to remove the engine from. I'm currently trying to get the front axle off so I can pull it out of the oil pan, but am having a lot of trouble. I called Jaguar/Land Rover and was informed there's a special tool set (which they don't sell) to press/depress the axle from the hub, is there any alternative to this special tool set? I want to do the job correctly, however, if I can avoid paying ~$200 for a tool set I'm going to use once, I'd prefer to lol
Would removing the lower control arm so the front wheel assembly can swing forward to then press the axle out of the hub? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Will post pics in a second to show the mess I'm working with..
