Default Diesl RSport not starting well from cold

Hi there,

It's winter and it's my first year with an R-Sport, I'm from the UK but the country I am living in currently is Slovakia and it's pretty cold here, below 0 pretty often.

I have the 3,0 Diesel R-Sport , 2018 Model but the car is used and I'm still learning about it. It starts and runs perfectly in the regular temperatures but now as it's getting colder I have noticed that it struggles to start the first few times. When it does start , the engine sounds like crap for a minute or so until you rev and drive it a bit. This definitely isn't battery for that reason. As soon as it's warmed up it's perfect again.

Could someone help me troubleshoot. I'm reading so far about glow plugs, injectors clogged, maybe brake switch? I'm not sure if it's two separate problems the struggle to start and the bad idling but these problems don't exist at all in other seasons. I do everything myself on this car as it's my main hobby so please only suggest things I can do without main dealer for now, hopefully that's not needed.

I'd also appreciate someone explaining the pulsing ignition button to me too, I know I have to press brake, do I have to pump it until the ignition button light pulses or something like that ?

Thank you in advance !
