Garage Rmote Control

I am having intermittent troubles with my garage remote control. The buttons on the rear view mirror. It worked fine for several years but recently has been spotty. Sometimes I need 4-5-6- presses to get it to work, other times the door responds on the first click.
I also have some suspicions about the garage door opener, that may be the problem, but I wanted to check first with the hive mind here, has anyone had any trouble with the Jaguar remotes?
4th year driving the thing, no problems, except the dealer keeps over filling the oil every year when I get it changed.
We had a good long trip over the Rockies into eastern Colorado this summer and back. Hot summer at home made the Jag AC pretty comfortable.

Mine fails to connect intermittently, no definite idea as to cause but I find that with the built in unit I must get much closer to the receiver (and my garage door) than with the previous hand held transmitters. I still keep an old handheld in the car for when the mirror doesn't work. I postulate that perhaps for some regulatory reason the signal is somewhat less powerful? FWIW my door openers are 30 yr old fixed code units.

Right. My opener is maybe 20 years old. The hard wired accuator stopped working a couple years ago, a replacement made no difference, the wiring it good, it is an internal problem but the original remote works fine. And the Jaguar mirror remote works fine sometimes, sometimes only after 4-5-6- presses. So on a balance of unknowns, the idiopathic data, I fault the Jaguar mirror remote for the intermittent failure.
Thank you for your response.
The more longer drives we take the less concern for the garage door opener. Maybe that is the lesson learned here.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the garage door opener. Also once I changed the position of some wiring in the garage and it became intermittent again. I changed the position of those wires and the problem stopped. Sometimes my wife's car (BMW) fails ..... she moves the car just a couple feet and it works.
