Headlights Not Working

Hello, I have a 2016 XF. I was recently clipped by a truck on the highway and had to have my front end repaired. Did not seem like a big deal as I barely felt the truck clip my front end but the hood and entire front end needed to be replaced. When I picked the vehicle up yesterday everything looked and seemed to work very well. However, I found the headlights do not work. All the other lights around the headlights work except the low and high beams. When I manually try to work the high beams I get a slight glow and then nothing. The front lights were replaced with what the insurance company calls an exact replacement but are from another exact vehicle. They also look brand new. Is there some programming that needs to be reset? My collision specialist has no idea of what is going on. My dealer is 500 US dollars just to look at it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Given that the front end pieces had to be replaced, the suspects here are poorly connected connectors or poorly connected ground points. This seems to be a body shop issue…how can they not have tested all the electrical items before releasing the car? This is not a dealer issue, assuming that you had working lights before the accident. It is part of your insured work done by the body shop.

Thanks. After I thought about this I took the vehicle back to the collision specialist and spoke to the owner of the company. They are digging into the problem. I did learn a lot about the HID headlamps including how the circuit is wired and grounded. Thanks again for the help.
I had a problem when replacing one HID headlamp on my 2015 F-Type S. The bodyshop used the VIN to order a replacement. The incorrect headlamp was installed. My F-Type didn't have LED cornering lights but the replacement headlamp did. Consequently, the light beams would not rise as they should. Other than that I noticed the inside of the headlamp was black whereas the original was silver and the replacement had an LED cornering light. The plugs were identical. The only difference was the plug from the headlamp had two additional pins that the wiring harness lacked. I presume that the additional pins were for the cornering lights that my car didn't have.
I recently had a similar issue when one of the LED headlamps on my 2018 F-Type R-Dynamic was replaced. The replacement was ordered by my Jaguar dealer based on the VIN. The result was that the headlamps would only aim down and to the right shoulder of the road. The control module tested okay. In the end, the headlamp was replaced with the correct one and all is okay.
Remember the days before computers when all one had to do was tap into a vehicle's electrical system? Just ensure the alternator could handle the electrical load, add a relay and all was well. Aren't computers great? Not! I'm tempted to buy a 1960s vehicle in order to avoid computer glitches. Unfortunately, old vehicles don't do well with unleaded gas. :-(
