Intermittent Cut Out

Intermittent Cut Out
Help and advice needed please. I have an X260 2.0D Auto. On gentle acceleration I feel a hesitation for a second or 2 before the car picks up, on one occasion it cut out and I had to restart. On heavy acceleration, the car jerks so violently I am afraid the airbags may deploy!!! It doesn't do it all the time, just when it feels like it. It feels as if it is cutting out and bump starting its self. Can anyone point me in the right direction to diagnose and fix this issue as it is becoming more regular. The are no lights on the dash. ,Many thanks.

I meant that there are no warning lights on the dash. Sometimes in the mornings I get loads of warnings on the dash, ABS fault, AEB not available etc. When I stop and restart the engine they are gone and don't reappear. I am wondering if this is all a battery problem. the stop/stary has a mind of its own (hate it anyway) I took the car to the main dealer who told me they couldn't look at it until the end of April. It's a daily driver so I need it sorting!!!

Or an intermittent/loose connection somewhere. Start by looking at the terminals and connections in the trunk. Some of what you say .... the warning lights coming and going .. is usually associated with a weak battery. Next time you stop for the night pop the hood, don't open any doors or use any electricity, wait for the battery to calm down (15 minutes) and take a reading at the jump start terminals. SOC State of Charge:
12.69V = 100%
12.45V = 75%
12.24V = 50%
12.06 V = 25%
11.89V = 0%
I permanently disconnected mine so I don't have to remember pushing the disconnect button every time I start the car.
