Once you create an account, you can put in your VIN and it will tell you where to push and hold the service button (center console above the rearview mirror).

I recently went through this. If it's a used XF the dealer will need to initiate a new account that associates the car with your name. As it stands, you won't be able to fully set up a new InControl account because the car will already be associated with the previous owner's info. I went to my dealer (without appointment) and they were able to sit down with me for 10 minutes and get it sorted. They even printed out all the previous service history and warranty info they had. All of this was free...

Jaguar remote
Just picked up a 66 plate xf portfolio and woild like to use the remote function. I understand there is a sunscription charge which is probably ok depending on cost but i cant open an account, neither can the dealer. The phone number for contact is an unrecognised number.
Any ideas? Thanks

remote app
I bought a 2016 XF from a dealer last month, they did something to get me signed up for the remote app. I read the application disclosures and I lost interest. As far as I can tell the app helps you find the car if it gets stolen and lets you receive a variety of marketing materials from the company, all for some undisclosed cost to a cell service provider.
I have a cell phone already and I can keep track of my service intervals and I don't think my car is going to get stolen. Reading their disclosures I see that they will be tracking my travel and my driving style, which I do not need or appreciate.
I do not need to start my car remotely, of all silly features made possible by this app.
I don't need to indemnify the factory if they get sued by someone.
Good luck you all, with the details of getting it set up. If anyone has some good reason to get this app, let me know.
