Default Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel Fuel tripping, Help !!!

Hello Guys
I am really stressed over my car having issue

My car was taking long to start for a day and i thought battery must be low as i have not been driving it that much and next day i had a breakdown in the middle of the road
I took this to a mechanic, he managed to turn it on what he said was the it was battery issue and he had to give it extra power to turn it on and then it was turning off after a while again and he said it must be that Fuel tank is not clean hence why its shutting it off because one reason was i have been driving my car often under low fuel and didn't take for a run in 3-4 months so i asked him to clean it which he said he did without taking the fuel tank out with his techniques i dont know what it was but he said its been cleaned
Next thing i took it to Gas station when trying to put diesel in , Pump keep shutting off after few seconds like if there is air in the pump , i have tried 3 other stations , same thing, i could not put diesel in it straight, its tripping and shutting it after 3 seconds, if i push it very light only then its working, I am not sure what he has done to it but he said he never touched that part nor he took the tank out to clean as i thought maybe there is ventilation problem
Please anyone can advice what should i do ? I can put diesel in but i have to push it very light to put diesel in but it still shuts off few times now i have also found i am getting Echo Failed error on screen and i have no idea why that error came up

I have also got the service done and everything, please can any expert help me , i am very stressed over this and don't wanna get mugged off by any other mechanics over this, if anyone can suggest what should i do to solve my Echo error problem and diesel that is shutting off when adding in it , Would be very much appreciated

Thanks

It might be prudent to also post in this forum: -

https://www.jaguarforum.com/forum.php

The name is almost the same but it isn't, there is an 's' missing. This forum tends to concentrate in UK cars and most of the XFs in the UK are diesels. The forum you've posted on here tends to deal mainly with US owners who tend not to buy diesels.

Sorry I can't help with the problem as I know very little about the diesel-engined XFs. However can you tell us a bit more about the car, like mileage and year. The 2.2 litre diesel was a Ford engine. There are a number of excellent Jaguar specialists in the UK, so hopefully somebody can suggest one near Croydon

Welcome to the forums Nomi M,

I've merged your 2 identical threads in this forum and deleted exactly the same threads from General Tech Help and Diesel variants - All models forum. Do NOT multiple post the same thing across the forums. It doesn't get the best response.

One essential detail you should add - Model Year of your XF.

Graham

The car needs to be seen by a Jaguar specialist that is familiar with the S-type diesel-engined models. This may have to be a main agent if you can't find a specialist near to Croydon. You may need to get the car recovered to a specialist if it won't make the journey.
