Jaguar XF STOPPED when changing drive selector
Hi Experts,
We purchased a pre-owned Jaguar vehicle in July. Recently, I was involved in an accident that had the potential for more significant consequences!
Car Details
Jaguar XF R-Sport Black D Auto 2015
Accident Details
While accelerating at approximately 20 miles per hour, I transitioned either from Sports Drive mode with active paddles to Drive mode, or from Drive mode with active paddles to Neutral, causing an abrupt and sudden halt akin to an emergency braking scenario (with no airbag deployment).
Other factors
I have concerns that this issue might recur, potentially leading to more severe repercussions.
Any thoughts?

Other factors
- ECO START/STOP system consistently failed to function
- A 'Battery Not Charging' alert surfaced, prompting a closer inspection that uncovered 4 litres of water in the trunk. This accumulation had led to damage in the dual battery monitoring box, reportedly stemming from a design flaw related to the vents. Despite the issue, it was confirmed that the car remained safe to drive until we could schedule it for repairs.
I have concerns that this issue might recur, potentially leading to more severe repercussions.
Any thoughts?
