Non starting XF 3.0 diesel
Hi I'm hoping someone may have experienced similar
I have just brought a Jaguar XF 3.0 diesel as a non runner. The seller alleged the car ran fine one day then wouldn't start the next. When I got the car it was super low on fuel so first thing I did was put two gallons in bringing it to the first line on the gauge.
I checked the fuel filter which wasn't full so I added some fuel into there, charged the battery and primed several times before trying to start. The engine turns over fine so I'm ruling out the brake switch I've seen mentioned but according to the icarsoft code reader for my merc which communicates with thr car in obd2 mode the engine is only spinning at 140-150rpm which seems slow. There are no fault codes showing amd the reader says the fuel pressure goes upto 4100psi. The engine doesn't make any strange noises I think we may have had the odd firing under initial turning today.
I've seen a few posts about batteries but I don't want to spend £300 on a replacement battery for no reason.
Does anyone know if the standard sensors for fuel air and crank would all show up under OBD2?

I would recommend asking the guys at Jaguarforum.com (without the "s").
