I don't get it. What's the big deal about this? Am I missing out on some social fad by being happy with my current Jaguar radio interface?

 

I'm testing it for the company, to make sure everything works,then once I approve it ,they will start selling it, what I'll do is make a series of videos, and you will see it in action ,then you guys can ask for differant options like I did with my 2015 Videos ,after this unit will be the F-type ...they are pricey but if you're a car enthusiast you won't care, it's just buying a $800 exhaust system

 

So this is a complete unit with buttons and everything, that will keep the functionality of everything like cameras and steering wheel buttons?

 

oh yes it will keep your regular functions, I'm testing to see if it is good or a waste of money. Looking for gaps ,and smooth fitment.

I am completely happy with mine. It's all what I needed. The Meridian sound system is awesome. If I move to a bigger display like the Tesla style radio, it will just be a distraction on my side, Plus, I can sleep better at night knowing if I plan to sell my XF in the future it will be still be all original OEM equipment.

 

Remember im just giving you information whats out there , like exhaust or new wheels , this unit is plug and play ,if you want to remove it and put it back to stock ,its simple this is just a heads up what's out there.,, most people don't want to even touch there car because they like there stock , i did not want to touch my XF but opportunity's came my way to try this out , now i love going on long trips with my wife engaged in a movie and i have the eye on the road ,no arguments ,happy wife happy life

 

Hey Dennis,
Ran into some issues and was curious if you had any ideas. First of all I feel like they possibly shorted me a wiring harness as I have one empty spot. After firing it up I noticed the AC doesn't work (no blower), the screen will not turn off, door sensors were not accurate (driver open but showing driver, passenger back and trunk). Not sure which factory connection the radio antenna plugs into as that's not color coded and could be a few. The only wiring I did not use was for the additional camera they sent. Pulled it out to make sure my battery didn't die overnight. Nothing else tested besides starting engine.

 

They sent me a picture of the wiring to the unit and I'm not missing anything, just not working properly. They had me unplug a connection between harnesses provided but no change.
Other issues noticed this time around:
Unit shows doors and trunk open but all closed.
Reverse camera and all sensors do not work. Error on dash that reversing camera unavailable.
Hard button for lowering fan speed does not work, only on-screen option does but blower does not come on anyway.

Hope they have some other things to try, I'll keep updating

 

Was a canbus issue, had to power on the car with box disconnected and connect after. Took 5 - 10 times to get it to catch. Their chat support is pretty good but the time difference made it a pain in the ***. Overall, love it. Huge upgrade from the non pro version

Issuss currently:
No option to use the cooled seats.
Reverse traffic detection not available warning on dash while reversing. Sensors work fine so not sure why.
Need to move the GPS antenna out from behind the unit, appears the electronics are interfering with the signal.

Same things with yours Dennis? Where did you mount the WiFi and GPS antennas?

 

Your cooled seems don't work ,ill look into it for you , mine does

Other than that I just have the "Reverse traffic detection not available" warning on dash while reversing. Sensors and backup cam are working though so it's strange.

 

those are airly easy fix ,they have to send you an updated decoder for the canbus, those options work on my car

 

What year / spec is yours? Says they will check to see if they have an updated canbus version. Seemed to think you only had the x250 version until I linked them here. Looks like a date code of 2021-08-11 on my current boxes but hopeful 🤞

 

reinstall your factory unit without bolting it in, then put the car in reverse then unplug each small plug till the the screen turns black ,and tell me what plug it is

 

Before putting the old back in, just confirming you realize the backup cam and sensors still work currently right? Just the annoying warning message. No problem doing it, just making sure

 

we are going to start fresh inizializing system ,then look for each plug

Removing the blue harness makes the screen go blue while in reverse, with backup cam displayed.

Removing the purple harness makes the screen go black like it's lost power. Also while in reverse with backup cam displayed. Wired the blue harness back in with it disconnected with no change.
*Edit: Purple is not used with the tesla screen

No warnings or errors of any kind after reinstalling the old. Also, the navigation worked fine, noticed you answered that question on the x250 so figured I would check.





*EDIT 2 - Thinking more on this, the plug that is attached to the other end of that Y in the last picture is used to power the push buttons, this includes the parking sensors. Could it be throwing the warning in reverse because the purple end is not terminated?
